SAIC wins $55 million task order by the Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation to support One Semi-Automated Forces

MCLEAN, Va., 9 Jan. 2012. Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC; NYSE: SAI) won a task order from the Program Executive Office (PEO) for Simulation, Training & Instrumentation (STRI) Acquisition Center under the Simulator & Trainer Omnibus Contract (STOC) II vehicle. The task order—with a one-year base period of performance, four one-year options, and a contract value of more than $55 million, if all options are exercised and funded—calls for SAIC engineers to advance the capabilities of One Semi-Automated Forces (OneSAF) for a broad audience. 

The OneSAF system is a next-generation, computer-generated forces simulation that can represent a range of operations, systems, and control process, supporting modeling and simulation domains. Users can configure computer-generated force systems precisely as they need to support simulation requirements.

Under the contract, SAIC will help implement OneSAF enhancements by providing services in areas, including conceptual modeling, engineering, design, development, production, and test and integration. Work on contract will be performed primarily in Orlando, Fla. 

"We look forward to working with PEO STRI on the production of OneSAF to support force modernization and transformation from weapons systems to brigade through analysis, experimentation, and training," says John Gully, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager. "This effort will ensure the consistent management of the configuration baseline, controlled integration of externally developed code, consistency and accuracy of released versions, and timely maintenance and response to user needs."

PEO STRI provides the U.S. Army with training devices, simulations, simulators, and instrumentation for training and testing.
