Embraer ramps-up manufacturing and support for business jets with 100th Brazil delivery and new jet support facility

SÃO PAULO, Brazil, 11 March 2012. Embraer SA in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is ramping up manufacturing and support for the company's Embraer executive jet with announcements of plans for installing a modern service center in Bertram Luiz Leupolz (SOD) airport in Sorocaba, Brazil, as well as for the 100th Embraer executive jet to be delivered in Brazil.

Embraer last week signed a concession agreement with the State of São Paulo in Brazil, which opens the way for a new Embraer executive jet service center for business aviation at Bertram Luiz Leupolz airport.

Earlier, Embraer delivered the company's 100th Embraer executive jet in Brazil -- a Medevac version of the Phenom 300 business jet to Amil Resgate Saúde, which Embraer officials say is a veritable flying medical intensive care unit (ICU). Amil Resgate Saúde in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, specializes in medical and rescue aircraft.

The new Embraer business jet service center will cover 65,616 square feet, and will have a hangar five times as large as the center located at Embraer’s headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The center will have hangars, VIP lounges, customer meeting rooms, and administrative offices, as well as maintenance, repair, hangaring, and FBO facilities.

Embraer's first Medevac version of the Phenom 300 jet has a new interior design and additional certification. The cabin configuration provides horizontal space for a stretcher, four seats for the medical team and companion, as well as a private aft lavatory. All of the seats rotate to reach the patient and carry out any necessary medical procedures during the flight, Embraer officials say.

The Phenom 300 has a ten-hour independent oxygen supply and 1,000 Watts of power for running medical equipment such as monitor, defibrillator, pace-maker, oximeter, ventilator, infusion pumps, and transportation incubator.

The jet can fly on calls of distances of nearly 200 miles, cruises at 520 miles per hour, and can operate from short runways. The aircraft has a range of 2268 miles nonstop.
