WASHINGTON, 31 Jan. 2013. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) officials in the U.S. have asked Boeing to provide the operating history for lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries used in the 50 grounded Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

The NTSB’s request follows the revelation that staff of All Nippon Airways, Japan’s largest airline, was aware of battery problems inherent in Boeing 787 avionics.
