Avionics and Defence Electronics Europe conference winds up today with 35 percent increase in attendance

Demand on helicopters worldwide remains high, and in response the global aviation industry must update flight training to meet the demands of modern avionics, said German army Brig. Gen. Reinhard Wolski in a keynote address Wednesday to the Avionics and Defence Electronics Europe conference and trade show in Munich, Germany.German army aviation is undergoing its largest restructuring in history, by bringing three kinds of aircraft into service, Wolski told Avionics and Defence Electronics Europe attendees. The two-day show, sponsored by Avionics Intelligence and PennWell, winds up today, with more than a 35 percent increase in attendees from the 2010 show, conference officials say.Manfred Mueller, a captain for Lufthansa Airlines also spoke about the importance of the Single European Sky ATM Research (SESAR) program and how it can enhance safety in the commercial aerospace industry by improving electronic flight bags (EFBs), reducing the numbers of aircraft near misses by as much as 99 percent.

Other speakers at the conference included Vincent De Vroey of the Association of European Airlines, who also discussed SESAR. Avionics and Defence Electronics Europe wrapped up today with additional programs, workshops, and exhibition floor displays.

Avionics Conference in its ninth year, and is one of the premiere conferences for avionics and the defense electronics industry in Europe. Next year's show will be 21 and 22 March 2012 in Munich, Germany.
