SINGAPORE -- Global Invacom subsidiary Foxcom has introduced a new repeater system that allows for the avionics testing of Inmarsat, Iridium and GPS signals while indoors.
The repeater, designed for use inside hangers, prevents aircraft from having to be moved outdoors in order to acquire satellite signals during maintenance, repair and overhaul work.
"The solution therefore greatly reduces aircraft-on-ground time, manhours and overall maintenance costs, thereby providing a rapid return on investment for customers," the company said in a statement.
Foxcom's newest range builds on a line launched in 2013. Older units lacked Inmarsat capabilities, though the company said existing systems can be easily upgraded.
"We're delighted to announce the launch of this unique testing solution, which is an excellent example of our ongoing commitment, innovation and investment," said Tony Taylor, Executive Chair of Global Invacom. "As a business, we are always looking to provide our partners with industry-leading devices that both simplify the running of their business, but more importantly, save them time and money."
