EXETER, England, 20 May 2012. Flybe Aviation Services, an aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company based in Exeter, England, has received approval from Bombardier Inc. in Montreal to provide authorized service to Bombardier CRJ regional passenger jet aircraft. The appointment adds to Flybe’s previous Dash 8/Q-Series aviation service facility (ASF) designation.
Flybe Aviation Services is the aircraft maintenance division of the Flybe European regional airline, also based in Exeter, England. Flybe is the only MRO facility in the world to hold Bombardier ASF status for the two regional airliner families, company officials say.
Flybe Aviation Services employs more than 800 staff in 16 locations. The company also is a authorized service center for the ATR 42 and ATR 72 turboprop aircraft from Aerei da Trasporto Regionale or Avions de Transport Régional (ATR) in Blagnac, France; the British Aerospace AVRO-146 regional jet; the Embraer EMB-145, EMB-170, and ERJ-190 regional jets, as well as the Honeywell ALF 502/507 turbofan engine and a variety of aircraft instruments.
The Bombardier CRJ (short for Canadair Regional Jet) family consists of the 50-seat CRJ-100 and CRJ-200, the 70-seat CRJ-700 the 75-seat CRJ-705, the 90-seat CRJ-900, and the 100-seat CRJ-1000.
