UTC Aerospace announces rapid deployment fleet management system

FARNBOROUGH, England -- UTC Aerospace Systems has announced a new version of its InteliSight fleet management hardware and software platform designed for easy use and fast installation.

Unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow, the platform offers a tablet-based interface that allows airline operators, flight crews and ground crews to access map data, monitor fuel and performance information, and record and transmit flight data.

"InteliSight technology and solutions from UTC Aerospace Systems are the emerging industry standard, applicable to all major airframes," said Mark Skarohlid, Vice President of Business Development at UTC Aerospace. "By providing operators the data required to optimize flight operations and mitigate disruptions, InteliSight is the first step to a fully intelligent and connected flight."

The company said its newest product represents a 90 percent reduction in installation time, with installations possible within hours at the gate.

"Operators now have the opportunity to connect their entire fleet to the airlines' network within days and immediately receive valuable aircraft data," the company said in a release.

UTC Aerospace's rapid installation package has already been certified by the Federal Aviation Administration for use on Boeing 737s under STC ST03360CH, and by the European Aviation Safety Agency under STC 10062139.

"We are the first to offer a certified solution which consists of a fully functional aircraft interface device (AID) with integrated cellular and Wi-Fi connections for rapid installation," Skarohlid said. "With our advanced installation process, customers may now enable advanced flight operations with minimal fleet downtime."
