CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, 27 Nov. 2008Airbus selected Rockwell Collins to provide its Dispatch Program for Singapore Airlines to maintain its future fleet of 19 leased A330 aircraft. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in January.
The Dispatch Program combines repair cycle times with spares ownership and reliable on-wing performance to deliver guaranteed availability, Rockwell Collins officials say. The total life cycle service solution includes spares management, distribution, component repair and overhaul, and component reliability improvements.
"Through this agreement, Rockwell Collins will provide a customized service program for Airbus," says Ken Estelle, vice president and general manager of Technical Service Solutions for Rockwell Collins. "Through Rockwell Collins' program of owning and managing spares on-site, we will help Airbus reduce operating cost and improve overall efficiency."
Provided services will include on-site components stock located at the main base and at the outstations, along with access to a pool of Rockwell Collins' components located at the Rockwell Collins Singapore Service Center. Additional services include component maintenance and modification, and general technical services including technical and configuration management of the A330 fleet components.
Rockwell Collins' global network of more than 80 locations provides repair and overhaul of avionics equipment for commercial, business, corporate and military operations. Additional logistics capabilities include on-board services, service parts, training and simulator systems and services, technical information services and technical services.
