Apacer introduces new MLC wide-temperature SSDs with CF and SD interfaces

TAIPEI, Taiwan, 06 July 2012. Apacer, a memory module supply company, has introduced a new wide-temperature SSD product. The SSDs are large-capacity MLC wide-temp SSD with CF and SD interfaces designed for industrial computer systems and automatic applications. The product employs the vendor guaranteed flash chip, which means it can run stably under extended-temperature (-40C and 85C) environments. It stays reliable at very high and very low temperatures, which makes the SSD a storage option that is suitable for military embedded systems, aerial vehicles, ground vehicles, and any system that requires rugged, swappable storage.
Apacer's MLC wide-temp SSD includes a CF card compliant form-factor with CFA 4.1 specifications and an SD card supporting the SDHC class 10 standard. The CF card uses the standard 50-pin connector; the data transfer mode is up to PIO-6, Multi-Word DMA-4 and Ultra DMA-5, and is available in capacities from 8GB to 32GB. The MLC wide-temperature SSD features sequential read/write speed of up to 55/20 MB per second. The industrial SD card version supports the SD association's version 2.0 standard, available in capacities from 4GB to 32GB. It also features sequential read/write speeds of up to 19/14 MB per second.
This series of products adopts vendor guaranteed wide-temp MLC chips for reliability and lifespan concerns, while the firmware and other major components of the Apacer industrial SSDs can be tailored to different specifications and verification based on customer needs. The series comes equipped with an error correcting code function, self-monitoring, analysis and reporting technology (SMART), and the ATA secure erase command.
