PETACH TIKVA, Israel – IMC Microwave industries Ltd. in Petach Tivka, Israel, is introducing an advanced RF and microwave transceiver for aircraft, helicopters, ships and ground stations for applications in air-to-air, air-to-ground and sea-to-air, real-time, point-to-point communications.
The transceiver is efficient because of gallium nitride (GaN) technology. Each user has long and multiple transmission slots, enabling them to transmit large amounts of information, including video.
The RF transceiver also can operate where two antennas are necessary, such as when an aircraft needs an uplink and downlink antenna to ensure full coverage.
"The transceiver meets the demands of missions where a great deal of information is required to be transmitted from multiple users," says Adi Ayalon, vice president of IMC Industries.
Additional features of the transceiver include: 40- and 60-Watt power outputs, and high sensitivity due to advanced signal processing - including FEC rate 1/2, support for AES-256 encryption, an advanced bit synchronizer and the ability to control the bit rate and digital filter width.
