YORK, Pa., 15 Oct. 2015.Daisy Data Displays Inc., a hazardous location and ruggedized computer manufacturer in York, Pennsylvania, is unveiling night-vision technology for displays to provide full-color readability in daylight and with night-vision goggles without the need for add-on filters. The technology is well suited to monitors and terminals that need to be compatible with NVIS goggles, such as those used in military and flight simulation applications.

Night-vision filters are typically applied to displays with snap-on clips or adhesive to block the spectrum of light waves that overpower night-vision goggles; yet, this method typically yields a green or low-color on-screen data view.

Daisy’s technology eliminates the need for the filter, enabling the unit to transition from day to night-time use. It provides full-color, clear, night-vision compatibility with the same screen, without the need for human intervention to support the transition. Daisy’s technology blocks only the specific light waves that cause NVIS goggles to “bloom,” allowing for a full-color display when not using NVIS goggles that prevents distractions and eye fatigue.

Daisy’s technology is available for all size displays for military and flight simulation applications. The technology is also Class B night-vision and MIL-STD-3009 compliant.

“Creating a display that is both night-vision goggle compliant and daylight readable without the need for an add-on filter is difficult to achieve. Daisy’s strategy of incorporating customer feedback into new product development resulted in this substantial new product innovation,” says David “Avi” Shefet, president of Daisy Data Displays. “We recognized that military and flight simulation applications would experience improved ease of use if we could make a display that provided full-color readability that is compatible with NIVS goggles.”
