EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW. The appearance of the F-35, breadth of attendees, and flying display among the things Jeff Fyfe, global business leader (aerospace), W.L. Gore & Associates in Newark, Delaware (with global facilities and manufacturing sites in Scotland, the U.S., and Germany) is anxious to see at Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2016 in Farnborough, England, this week. Intelligent Aerospace Chief Editor Courtney E. Howard interviewed Fyfe, who revealed the following insights about FIA 2016 and beyond.

Jeff Fyfe, global business leader (aerospace), W.L. Gore & Associates, tells Intelligent Aerospace readers what he’s excited to see at FIA 2016:
“#1: has to be the appearance (finally) of F-35
#2: breadth of attendees from industry experts, major manufacturers, and all the way through to end users experiences
#3: always nice to see the flying display (if I can get the time away from arranged and impromptu meetings)
“We have supported FIA (and other major events) for 20+ years. Gore has been established for almost 60 years and we pride ourselves in the performance of our aerospace products, capabilities, and services.

“We consider FFU (Fitness For use) of utmost importance for the Aerospace industry. Our products do what we claim they will and perform in the harshest environments over the lifetime of our customers applications.

“We invest in events like FIA to showcase our capabilities, meet existing and new clients, and in doing so demonstrate our support for the aerospace industry over the long term. The other aspect of attending these events is to identify aerospace market trends, which are usually identified as potential growth opportunities -- identifying unmet needs and mapping customer discoveries are all part of the return we expect from the investment of being here this week.

“As a company, our growth is based on what value we bring to our customers. Following the close of FIA, our aerospace team will take the data, feedback, and intelligence we have gathered from this year's show and analyze trends along with un-met needs to ensure we are focusing on what the market is demanding.”

W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) engineers solutions that meet the aerospace industry’s growing demand for faster digital networks, more power performance, higher-quality in-flight entertainment (IFE), improved fuel efficiency, and less maintenance and downtime. From the cockpit to the tail, Gore’s advanced cables and materials deliver exceptional performance in the most challenging environments over the life of the aircraft — proven performance in extremely demanding environments, officials say.
