Secure, rugged, solid-state drive for military data recording and field computing introduced by Microsemi
PHOENIX, 25 March 2011. The Microsemi Corp. Power and Microelectronics Group in Phoenix is introducing the TRRUST-Stor secure solid-state drive for data-intensive aerospace and defense applications that require secure, anti-tamper data storage, such as mission-critical field computing, mission data entry, and satellite telemetry. The TRRUST-Stor solid state drive (SSD) is designed from the ground up for aerospace, defense, and military applications such as surveillance, data recorders, field computers, digital map storage, avionics, and GPS, and communications systems.
-- AES-256 encryption with XTS to prevent sensitive data from getting into the wrong hands;
-- hardware-based authentication, and the TRRUST-Purge tool can erase the keys in less than 30 microseconds to render data forensically unrecoverable;
-- hardware-based fast clear of the entire drive occurs in less than 4 seconds
-- ability to withstand shocks as strong as 1700 Gs shock, and 30 Grms of vibration; and
-- obsolescence mitigation while allowing for differentiation and customization.
Manufactured in the United States by a U.S. Department of Defense-trusted facility, Microsemi's proprietary made-for-military solid state drive focuses processing power on error correction, wear leveling, and eliminating drive corruption.
