Su-27 jet fighters from the Russian Knights flight demonstration team to appear at Farnborough this week

Two Russian Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker jet fighter aircraft operated by the Russian Knights aerobatic flight-demonstration team will appear this week at the Farnborough International Airshow in Farnborough, England. One of the jet fighters will be on static display, and the other will be take part in flight demonstrations daily at Farnborough, which runs today through 15 July.

One of the jet fighters will be on static display, and the other will be take part in flight demonstrations daily at Farnborough, which runs today through 15 July.
The Russian Knights is an aerobatic demonstration team of the Russian air force that performs maneuvers with four Su-27P and two Su-27UB jet fighters, similar to the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds does with its F-16 fighters, and the U.S. Navy Blue Angels with its F/A-18 Hornet jet fighter-bombers.
The Russian Knights Su-27s will be on display on the ground and in the air this week during the four Farnborough business exhibition days today through July 12, and this weekend for public exhibition days July 13 to 15.

The Su-27 is a twin-engine, twin-tail super-maneuverable jet fighter designed as a counterpart to other so-called fourth-generation fighters such as the U.S. F-15 Eagle and F/A-18 Hornet aircraft, the French Dassault Mirage 2000, the Chinese JF-17 Thunder, the Swedish Saab JAS 39 Gripen, and the European Eurofighter Typhoon.
The Su-27 has a Phazotron N001 Zhuk coherent pulse-Doppler radar, and an OLS-27 infrared search and track (IRST) system with laser rangefinder for wide-area search and missile fire control.
Also to be on display at Farnborough this week are the Breitling Jet Team, The Blades, RedHawks, Breitling Wingwalkers and the RAF Red Arrows. The South Korean Air Force T-50 jet trainer will appear at Farnborough for the first time in the colors of the Black Eagles display team.
Other aircraft displays on the ground and in the air this week at Farnborough will be the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet, the Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon and C-130J Super Hercules, the Saab Gripen fighter and the Yak-130. The Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo also will be at Farnborough.
The Farnborough Airshow is one of the largest international aviation exhibitions of the year . The show stages in even-numbered years and is a counterpart to the Paris Air Show, which states near Paris, France, in odd-numbered years.
