The space-proven SCS3740 offers performance of 1700 Dhrystone million instructions per second and 90 Linpack million floating point operations per second.
The board for spacecraft uses has eight general-purpose SpaceWire ports, each as fast as 200 megabits per second; one SpW debug port; two UART (RS-422 or LVDS) ports; two CANbus ports, two I2C ports; one SPI port; one GPIO port; one 1553 port; and one Ethernet port.
The SCS3740 is an off-the-shelf Quad Core LEON 4FT 3U SpaceVPX computer board and weighs 550 grams, with power consumption of five Watts.
The LEON system on a chip quad-core processor reduces overall parts count. Radiation hardness is 100 kilorads total ionizing dose, and has one single event effect in 150 years at geosynchronous orbit.
The SpaceVPX board is built on DDC's TRL-9 single board computers, and uses DDC's flight proven rad-hard Sp-Space Commercial Off-the-Shelf (Sp-COTS) memories, including 32 gigabytes of error corrected NAND Flash, 128 megabytes SDRAM, and 4 megabytes EEPROM. In more than 20 years the DDC Sp-COTS and computer board products have experienced zero failures in space, company officials say.
